About Evie
Evie came to the retreat after being found as a tiny baby on top of a rubbish pile, thought to be only a couple of hours old. Thank goodness she was brought to the retreat, where they were able to nurse and care for her and give her the life she deserves.
Evie is the sweetest girl, just like a big puppy! She's grown up with her adopted family and siblings, Panda and Abbie, who are of similar age.
Cows are very social and accept others into their herd easily, although they do have a clear hierarchy. Within their group, there are strong individual friendships, with many of them having a best friend who they will tend to stand and sleep closest to and will feel stressed if they are separated.
Mother-and-child relationships are also very strong, as cows are naturally amazing mums and hate to be apart from their children. Sadly, babies are taken from their mothers in the dairy industry so humans can take their milk, despite the distress this causes mum and baby.
Evie loves nothing more than having cuddles and fusses from her favourite humans and observing the antics of the more boisterous cows in the herd. They're a bit much for her to get involved with directly when they're being a bit crazy, but she enjoys quiet time with them, especially her "siblings," Abbie and Panda.
Evie unfortunately damaged one of her horns, and it wasn't healing, so it had to be removed. Now she's a real-life unicorn (or unicow).
Ear tags are legal requirements, but Evie must have known she's more than just a number and managed to rip hers out!
