About Baby Sylvia

Sylvia the calf was only a day old when she arrived at the The Retreat Animal Rescue.

Worthless, shaking, scared, and hungry was this tiny newborn. Not even the veal man wanted her because of her eye infections. But Sylvia was a fighter and against all odds, she's thriving today!

Now grown and healthy, Sylvia spends her days basking in the sun, nuzzling her friends, and greeting everyone with her gentle, curious eyes.

She's living proof that love and care can transform a life, and she reminds us that every animal, no matter how small or unwanted, deserves kindness and compassion.

There aren't many cattle on the planet who get to live a long and happy life surrounded by people who love them, but Sylvia is one of the lucky ones.

Fun Facts About Cows:

• Cows form close friendships and can even hold grudges (Sylvia definitely remembers who brings her the best snacks!).
• They have an incredible sense of smell and can detect scents up to six miles away!
• Cows are gentle giants with big hearts, they show affection by grooming each other and enjoy listening to soft music.
• Each cow has her own unique personality, Sylvia's is as bright and sweet as her name.
