About Elvis

Elvis came into the world under heartbreaking circumstances, born on a slaughter truck where his mother and others like her were being taken to their deaths. Elvis fell from the moving lorry, and that fall became his chance at life.

Elvis sadly never got to feel the love of his mother or siblings, but he has found love, care, comfort, and kindness in his new home. Pigs are incredibly social animals who form deep bonds, and Elvis is no different. Just like a playful puppy, he adores toys, belly rubs, and all the affection he can get.

Surrounded by love, he's growing into a confident and joyful young pig.

When Elvis first arrived, he was too tiny to join the other pigs right away. Instead, he stayed in a nearby pen where he could watch and learn from his new neighbours. A small hole was made in the fence so he could come and go as he pleased, giving him the freedom to explore at his own pace while always having a safe space to return to.

Over time, he gained confidence, joined his friends fully, and even made a best friend named Toni. Today, Elvis is thriving, happy, and full of personality.

Fun Facts About Pigs!

*They love company! Pigs are social animals who form lifelong friendships and love snuggling close to their herd, just like Elvis and his best friend, Toni.

*Pigs "talk" to each other using more than 20 different vocalisation to express everything from happiness to excitement to 'it's dinner time'

*Despite their muddy reputation, pigs are actually very clean and prefer to keep their eating, sleeping and toileting areas separate.

*Pigs are emotionally aware and can feel joy, empathy, and even sadness, they thrive on affection and gentle attention from their human and animal friends.

*Pigs roll in mud not because they're dirty, but because it helps protect their skin from the sun and keeps them cool on warm days.
